The New Church

I recently saw a post on social media about someone asking what type of church would be best in their community. Overwhelmingly people mentioned a church that accepts everyone. Someone commented that there would be more Christians if they would just accept people for who they are. It is "Pride Month" and so people are referring to the LGBT community. My favorite baseball organization changed their logo on Facebook for a few hours to a rainbow colored logo and the comments went crazy. Some people said they wouldn't be a fan any longer because of the rainbow logo and someone else called them a racist. A racist? Let that ignorance sink in a bit. This is what we are dealing with.
It's bad enough that we offend everyone in today's society. Now we are expected to adjust everything as to not offend anyone but I'm not sure how we will ever accomplish that. I can tell you that the church is not the place to make this happen. Why do people get so upset with Christians in particular over their beliefs. The followers of Jesus didn't write the Bible, but if they are adhering to the teachings of Jesus, they don't have the option to change the rules or the Bible and let everyone do whatever they feel like doing.
When was the last time you heard people complaining about Muslims, Hindus, or people of the Jewish faith that they are too exclusive? For some reason people have respect for the teachings of these religions, but not Christianity.
To go one step further, why do people who don't fit into the Christian belief system even want to go to a Christian church anyway? Why are you trying to make them change to fit you in? Why not just create a new church that doesn't believe in the Bible? I'm sure there are churches out there like that but they probably don't have cool buildings. We need a church founded by Civil rights leaders with moral standards written by a collective group of inclusive people.
The only problem with that is that nobody can agree on what the rules are. If you are going to include everyone and everything, there can't be any rules. Rules only prohibit. Nobody wants that. I want to be able to come into my new church with my chai latte half whip mochachino and wear what I want. I do drugs and have multiple partners of every gender. I want to leave when I think the service is too long. You can't tell me what to do because that isn't inclusive. Everyone should be welcome in this church.
Why do people think they can create a church like this? You can say you accept everyone, but somehow people of common beliefs will gather together. It happens. Then as people come in that were not invited, the group splits and two new groups form with reformed rules and beliefs. This is what happened to the Christian church. It is still reforming but it is becoming less and less of a Christian beliefs following organization and more of a people following organization. We don't have to force every organization to let us in if we don't follow their rules. I say if you don't stand for something, you stand for nothing. Move on or create your own church, but let's leave Christianity to those who wish to hold it sacred and give them the same respect you are demanding they give to you.
