So Photogenic

As a musician, I love to play for people. I will play for hours at home practicing, but it always is the most rewarding to play for an audience. After 30 plus years of performing, I still play out at local establishments. I have been blessed to have incredible opportunities playing music in many places around the world and some interesting places locally. One of my fondest memories was playing at a pool hall, who also booked a hypnotist for the same night. I will tell that story later, but let's just say that it was probably one of my most memorable nights.
For now, I usually perform solo with just my guitar at local restaurants and bars. I like the chance to connect with people and play music they want to hear by request. Many times people will take a picture or two or even record video of some song I surprise them with.
Recently I was at the Breezeway restaurant in the historic district of Sanford, FL. It is a really nice place that has an alleyway with tables and a bar. They serve food and drinks and have live music all weekend. I was playing on a quiet Sunday afternoon. A few ladies were sitting at a table to my right and seemed to be enjoying the music. After some time I noticed one of them was taking a photo of me as I played. How nice. A few minutes later one of the other ladies was taking a picture too. I was wondering what they would say in their Facebook post. "Enjoying some great local music in Sanford" or something like that.
A few tunes later and I was in between songs, when I noticed it was photo time again. I turned their way and smiled. One of the ladies asked me to step back a couple steps, obviously to get the microphone out of the picture, I was thinking. She was obviously an artistic type because I was not centered in the picture. It seemed as if I was off to one side of the shot. I casually glanced over to see what else was in the picture.
Have you ever been in a room when someone walks in and waves towards you? You aren't really sure you know them but you wave back anyway, only to notice the person behind you who knows them waving. The person who first waved cocks their head to the side like they can't really see around you because you are in the way of the person they intended to wave at. Then they wave again more animated while pointing to the side as if to say to you, "um... I was waving at the person behind you." Then you feel like an idiot, but if you're smart you wave back again doing the same thing they are doing pretending you were waving at someone behind them! This was the photo equivalent of that situation.
They weren't taking pictures of me. On the other side of me there was a very interesting wrought iron sculpture of some fish decorated with colored lights. This was the subject of their photo. They were asking me to step back so I wouldn't be in their photos. Oh. Sorry to ruin the shot.
More likely Facebook post...."look at these cool fish sculptures at the Breezeway in Sanford."
